CL55 AMG - No sound from Command Unit

Help - friends 2000 CL55 AMG fitted with command (disc changer in boot) has lost sound to all functions (mute buttons not activated !!)

Displays radio station, location on navigation, but shows 'No CD' on cd player, TV operating with perfect picture.

Checked fuses which are OK

Any ideas of what might be wrong and where to now look?

Something on the fibre optic ring has broken (and thus not passing the data on) - or a fuse to something on the ring is gone.

The possible thinks on ring are
COMAND
Phone
CDC
Lingatronic
Digital Sound (BOSE) system

If you look on www.mercupgrades.com there is a document about COMAND diagnostic mode
Read it, and let us know what order the items on the fibre ring are in, and what the error codes are and I may be able to tell you where to look

Thankyou very much for your reply - I have now printed off information you kindly supplied and will examine tomorrow my friends Command using this information
