aftermarket xenon

i just brought some new aftermarker xenon headlights. there projector headlights with the xenon hid kit installed. there work fine when i have igition on but when i start engine the lights just the xenon lights goes off. the side lights work. can some one plz help. i have a w203 c220 cdi 2002 model

I think you need to get the XENON=YES setting changed via the STAR diagnistics system.

I think you will need to take it to an MB dealer or an indie if you can find one with a STAR machine.
I am fairly certain this needs coding but others will correct me if I am wrong when the sun comes up.

Its a sad day when you have to plug into the ECU and change settings just to make the headlights switch on in a car

That is correct. Adaptations needed for correct functioning.

yes it worked

yep just needed to change setting in car. it said xenon not present just need to change to present works fine now. thanks guys

Not going to be any help as I picked mine up during a business trip in Germany. Bought OE units (+-1100 euros).
