Main beam adjustment

I have a year 2000 W210 E320 estate. The dipped beam headlamps are aimed rather high for my liking, although this is easily adjusted by the dashboard switch. However the main beams are so high that they are only useful for aircraft spotting, and when the lights are adjusted (by the dashboard switch) so that the main beam is somewhere useful the dipped beam is nowhere near far enough ahead.

Before I go ahead and strip out things like the windscreen washer reservoir to get at the rear of the lights, can anybody tell me whether I will find separate adjusters for the main and dipped beams? Thanks in anticipation.

It should then have manual adjustment knobs. According to this thread, those should be located at the top of the headlight assembly.
headlamp adjustment

Like mentioned on the thread, the level control works with vacuum on standard lights but an issue with this adjustment should not make the lights show too high (unless there is something really broken).
