Adding a power socket in the boot
Has anyone added one and if so, is it easy? Is there a convenient point to take the power? I await anyones replies. Many thanks in anticipation. |

I suppose its got to be permanent live really. You cant go switching a fridge on and off or else it defeats the object.
I would simply unplug the unit when not required. As you say, it would be a cigar lighter type. Thanks for your reply. |

i have fitted the W210 power socket in the boot of my 124 estate - looks OEM and works perfectly. Very cheap mod at around £6 for the parts from MB.

I'd suggest to connect to an "under-key" feed, like the factory 12v plug in the cabin

I had a socket fitted in the boot compartment. I believe the power come from the connection block where the rear SAM module is located (left side), where you can take a 'always on' 12v feed. I chose to have the socket (fused) put in the black removable plastic bits under the parcel shelf. Dunno if this is of any help? Shame with this weather you hardly need a fridge!

see my post at the bottom of the thread with the part numbers.
only the main block and spade connectors are really needed from merc. you can then get the wiring or the spade connectors from halfords or the like cheap: A0075458426 : PIN BUSHING : EUR .78 (X2) A2108200951 : FITTING MOLD : EUR 9.07 + about 5 metres of wiring to get to the battery at the front should do + a inline fuse aswell |

Another mod to add to my list. Does it have to be installed in the boot or could it be installed in say the centre armrest?

Why don't you add both? One in the boot one in the armrest!
