speaker problem
The passenger door speaker is vibrating as if the cone paper has become damaged i have not taken it out yet but have touch it and the vibrating stops is there a way to repair this if it is small, It is more evident when the base is greater, SL 500 R230. REGARDS STEVE. |

You're a bit vague here, but if it is indeed a ripped cone, I wouldn't bother repairing it. Just replace it, it's not going to be that expensive and you have a recent car after all.
But are you sure that the cone is ripped? It could be that the speaker itself has loosened itself. Repairing the cone with a strip of vinyl paper is possible, but it will affect performance. |

R230 Speaker problem
Hi I had the same problem, ordered new speaker unit from main dealer - was about £50 +vat which when I saw the size of the unit didn't seem so bad.
Took about half an hour searcing on the net to find out how to remove the door card (there is a video on youtube) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thAVY-3Ye6g for a similar model which helped and about another half hour changing the old one out. Well worth it and actually quite satisfying. |
