Is this any good?

I am looking to buy a portable Sat-Nav and have seen this one in halfords.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_124982

I have seen this one.....is it the best for the money?

My one must have european mapping, and this one also has bluetooth which would be handy and and also TMC? It is currently reduced, but is only sold by Halfords so the price cannot be matched.

Is there anything better on the Market at the price?

Thanks for any advice.

it works indeed, that is quite a significant drop, if you think the product at this price does ticks all your boxes go for it, but a price drop like that usually means

- did not sell well
- new model is in the pipeline and they need to shift the old stock

with satnav's i would go to the store and have a play with the various models (satnav models :-) ) on show and see if you like the user interface, build quality etc

Thanks...tried that the other day, went into Halfords, waited over half an hour for somebody with the knowledge/experience to sell me the product. After talking to 2 kids/youths who knew very little about the products they sell I walked out.
I am therefore not expecting great aftersales but surely they must have somebody with SOME product knowledge!
hence my posting here....

I would not take much notice of the price drop because the S70 which is the same model without the TMC is available to buy for around £130 everywhere.

Hello

I would go for a TomTom unit, Tomtom one? cheap now and very small, does everything you will probably need.

Dad has a Navman, not as easy to use / change maps etc

i agree with A210AMG, as too i had a navman, but ended up using a friends tomtom and it was so much easier to work and all in all just seem a better product. (was a Tomtom One).

I cant really comment on this particular model, but have used a couple of previous Navman models and didnt particularly like them, combination of reasons, mainly because I didnt like the UI, also the build/size was not particularly good. I have always used TomTom units and still own a 910 for when I use loan/hire cars.

Cheers

Mark
