r129 central nozzle lights not working

the central nozzle (air blower above the climate control unit) lights have been working on and off for the last couple of months

last night i took the unit out and decoupled it and found there are 2x 12v 1.2w lights inside this unit,

I removed these and they seemed okay, i put them back in but they are still not working, (fuses are fine btw), when i was fastening the 2 screws to fit the sunglass/gloves compartment above the nozzles all of a sudden one of these lights came on stayed on for a bit then dimmed and then completely stopped working.

also when you turn the headlights on the red and blue buttons are supposed to be illuminated but only the red button currently illuminates and the blue one is off and remains off

I will order some new bulbs and fit these but any idea what could cause initially these lights to work intermittently and since last nights handy work after working for a few minutes it has not come back on again), is it time for a complete new central nozzle unit (item 11 on this link http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=165&SGN=04) or would someone have another suggestion

thanks!

It must be possible to find the bad connection and where the fault is.

Not clear about the headlamp switch, nothing lights up on that

this is now working again

took the unit out again, opened it up and noticed one of the connections on the board was lose, put it back together, also replaced one of the 1.2 w bulbs

a) the white lights are working again
b) the blue light works as well as it is transferred via a transparent plastic strip from the vent lights that sits underneath (if that makes sense?)
