Apparently it will!!

YOUR NEW PHONE SOLUTION (Bluetooth wireless): Not for pre-1999 :
Mercedes Benz has manufactured two types of systems in their cars since 1999. They are divided by the type of fiber optics that run through the car. The first one is called D2B and the second is called M.O.S.T. - To find out what kind you have, see our compatibility chart.
D2B - The Argos AIKD2B is a wireless solution that uses Bluetooth technology that is common in many of todays phones. If you have one of the popular phones, PDA, or smartphone with Bluetooth, you may want to consider this option. It is also well suited to any Mercedes that contains D2B fiber optics (see compatibility), even if the car has not previously had a phone system installed. It is called the ARGOS Integration Kit (AIKD2B). The AIK is a solution that allows you to use any brand phone and allows you to choose any carrier you desire. The only requirement is that the phone have Bluetooth capability (most phones do). In addition, it allows you to simply get into the car with the phone in your pocket, purse, even your breifcase in the trunk. It connects wirelessly to your phone (after an initial one time security 'pairing' procedure). This is not another aftermarket solution that makes use of just the built in microphone and loudspeakers. Full integration means, using the COMAND Navigation head unit, radio or steering wheel controls to dial, accept/reject calls, browse the cell phone's directory, voice dailing, etc. The unit simply plugs into the network connection that is in your trunk (hidden by a carpet panel).
M.O.S.T. - We also have a solution for M.O.S.T. fiber optic equipped cars (see compatibility) - Depending on the audio system in your car, we have two products available. One is the Stage-1 ECP/MOST unit, and the other is the iTronic™ (formerly known as Stage-2 ECP/MOST).
Stage-1 ECP/MOST - is for cars with standard audio only. It is not for cars with premium audio (Harmon Kardon or Bose) or COMAND equipped cars. It is a lower cost solution that offers audio through the sound system as well as steering wheel controls. However, it does not upload the phonebook or have caller-id display on the radio. (under testing).
The iTronic™ works just like our Argos AIKD2B above. It works just like a factory system, and includes full caller id display and phonebook use (if the phone supports that feature) in the cars built in radio and displays. It works in all cars with the M.O.S.T. fiber optic system. The iTronic™ kit is a solution that allows you to use any brand phone and allows you to choose any carrier you desire. Full integration means, using radio or steering wheel controls to dial, accept/reject calls, browse the cell phone's directory, voice dailing, etc. The unit simply plugs into the network connection that is behind the radio. Installation is straight forward and simple. It does not require any cutting or modification of the car at all. BONUS !!!! • The iTronic™ kit can be upgraded on initial purchase or even after it is installed in your car for $379 to include iPod functionality as seen below. Install ONE box and get BOTH features (Bluetooth phone and iPod control)
Wondering about installation? The iTronic can be installed in the trunk, however, we recommend that it be installed behind the radio. Simply slide the radio forward, plug the unit in, plug the mic in, and slide the radio back. Very simple. If you don't want to tackle it, your dealer or any aftermarket shop can plug it in for you. We also have some certified installers on our installer list at the left.
•••YOUR CAR DOES NOT HAVE TO HAVE PHONE PRE-WIRE FOR ANY OF OUR SYSTEMS TO WORK •••
Pre-wired or not, they will work!

Bluetooth Kit for D2B mOST

This sounds good..almost too good to be true. It sounds logical until it says it will give Comand bluetooth capability even to cars like mine without telephone prewire.
I'd just like to be convinced that it works and I'd happily purchase one.
I was about to buy the Dension Gateway 500 until a member here tried one but didn't think much of it.
Apparently the AIK D2b has been on te market for sometime and is not unknown in the UK.

Has anyone with D2B tried either system? I'd appreciate some feedback or opinions.

I have the dension 500 that I think the person you are talking about used to own. I have swapped the cable to the latest that works with the classic 160G ipod and just updated the firmware. it know works much better. Also they have just introduced the dual fot most unit, which still allows use of the cd changer I beleive.

As I haven't tried the MB ipod kit I think for the price the dension is a good unit. Fits behind the head unit and in my W211 I could run the cables from the arm rest to the head unit without cutting holes

Thanks for your input Ckember. I am willing to try the Dension 500 if you have had success with using it. I have an ipod touch but decided against the Dension as I can't "see" the track names from my ipod with my D2b.
Is your Dension 500 mainly for your Ipod? Does it work with your telephone and do you have telephone pre-wire?

Thanks

the tracks names come up sometimes, in the display, I get the artist or album name more often than not.

With the new firmware I can switch from the ipod to the cd changer without getting out the car locking it and waiting 5 minutes.

I am not sure if the D2B version will give the names on all comand units.

I have the bluetooth for the dension but not fitted it as I have the pre-wire with the sap module.

I've been told that D2B Mercs do not support ID3 Tags so I probably won't see the tracks on Comand or the instrument cluster.

InCarTronics is a marketing company for MOBRIDGE INC in the USA. They make a lot of claims including that they are the developer. Ummmm ... the jury is out on that one.

They make a lot of claims on how easy it is to install and forget to explain a whole lot of other things. So really you need to ask about you configuration and what to do. Otherwise you may get a whole range of mixed results.

They are using the same stock standard email to everyone but it is limited on technical information. You may want to talk to MOBRIDGE directly if you want some specific details on what to do.

The new product is for MOST only and mostly applies to USA cars. The UHI system used outside the USA gives ample coverage through SAP, HFP and Motorola pucks currently available. In Australia all cars are standard with UHI since 2005 except for A-class and B-class.

You may want to look at the cost of a proper retrofit rather than chasing an expensive aftermarket product with limited support.

No but you will need someone to activate the phone menu.
