Subwoofer / CD Changer cable question

Just fitted my new Head unit and whilst taking out the old, notice that there is some cabling ending in a red and white analogue audio jacks at the stereo end of the car, and in the boot also what appears to be the other end.

I fancy having a active subwoofer in the boot (never had one before). I can some see spare outputs (pre-outs?) on the back of the new Head Unit which are analogue jack size, so reckon that end is fine.

So, I wondered if this cable in the boot (assuming its the same cable of course ) would be fine for the subwoofer end? I know im gonna need power as well, but there should be a cable around somewhere if a CD changer was once in the boot, else I guess I can connect it to the aerial power somehow?

Cheers
Simon

The aerial power lead could be used to switch the power to an amp, but it could not carry the load for an amp.

This must have its own power lead

Thanks Malcolm, I suspecetd as much, I found another cable that also runs to the boot from behind the stereo, which is most likley the CD changer cable which of course may also have power.

I think I shall have to take a trip to my cousins and get him to wire me up a Sub. I have to go an see him to rip out and disable (or fix perhaps) the existing alarm system which has a brass lock barrel (immobiliser?) fixed into the glove box but I have no key for it unfortunately. He should be able to swap the lock out and rewire another in.

Cheers
