W169 Door lock problem

Working on my little run around W169 which I bought with some know faults and would appreciate a little advice.

When I bought the car I noticed that the key operated barrel in the drivers door had been drilled out, at that time it came with two keys which both had blank blades.

The lock operated ok with both keys & all was well (although 1 key has since stopped working)

Now I have purchased a second hand lock complete with blade & need to fix it in the door, my question is can I use the black coloured RF receiver that is fitted to the replacement lock or will I have to transfer the receiver from the damaged lock ?

You can use the RF received, the data is processed elsewhere

Moving on has anyone ever changed the lock ? When I took the door trim off I found a huge metal plate pop riveted between the trim & door frame. I don't want to take this off if I don't need to

I don’t think you need to remove the door trim if it’s just the lock barrel that it is what you want to remove.
