speaker upgrade replacement dilema

1. Simply replace the original 4 inch, paper cone crap hiden in the dash

2. Pimp my ride - have holes cut in door cards and have some decent sized speakers put in, with smaller holes cut into the rear interior panels for some nice smaller speakers and a nice amp in the boot

would like to keep the car as original as poss, but the current stereo upgrade is completely wasted with the rubbish speakers!

I'd try to replace the existing speakers with something a bit beefier rather than start cutting holes in expensive and probably rare bits of trim!
