An interesting thing happened on the way home

Thankfully, I wasn't driving.

On the way home on Monday, I'm in the back of my mates car minding my own business when the anchors go on and I hear him say "**** sakes".
Turns out a modded Jap sports car had tried to overtake the car in front (in a 30 MPH limit) , lost it whilst pulling in again, hit the kerb, slid on its side into the wall, which it totalled, bounced back onto its wheels and burst into flames.
My other mate, in the front passenger seat pulled the driver from the burning wreckage - turns out he only had a few fractures to his arm, what a lucky boy.
So the cops, paramedics and fire brigade turn up, and what was left of the car was doused with water and the flames put out.

Talking to the coppers later and they say the firemen found some unusual mods in the boot - turns out he had a nitrous oxide kit in the boot - oh the fun if that had went up in flames

Couldn't even work out what make of car it was - think it might be a write off . Turns out the guy had only had the car a few days.

Perhaps there is a God after all, glad everyone escaped without serious injury.

Oh, it happens!!

A few months ago I was entering the roundabout at J25 of the M1 alongside a Nissan GTR with a couple of youngish chaps inside. As the lights changed the driver made a smart get-away. Then he declutched, revved the engine and then popped the clutch. All 4 wheels span, he lost it and went sideways into the armco wrecking every panel on the driver's side.

Why don't they learn to drive before showing off?

Yes , something about walking before you can run .

Two more examples of why insurance premiums are so high for all of us , and moreso for young males .

Maybe we should start a new thread ( or even a website ? ) 'Institute of Retarded Motorists' and award honorary membership to drivers like these who are seen to 'distinguish' themselves on the roads ??

One of our neighbours kids had a tarted up Nissan(a 200SX?) with the bodykit, drainpie exhaust and turbo turned up to max. A really ugly, noisy piece of sh*te if I'm honest. One Sunday morning we heard it start in the road, lots of revs, exhaust bellowing, turbo whistling then the tyres screaming during an emergency start. We heard the change from first to second as he passed our house, then screaming tyres as he braked, then a huge bang. Drove straight into a stationary car while avoiding an oncoming car on on the bend in our road. Nobody hurt, but his car a write-off, and innocent victims Mondeo looking a lot shorter. From zero to zero again in not more than 5 seconds.

That was a year or two ago, and he's still only driving his mum's Corsa occasionally when she's not at work. Probably still paying the loan on the last one. I'm sure he'll drive better and look after his next car and other road users when he can finally afford to buy and insure it!!

Not when used in its literal meaning

Anyway, they wouldn't understand. It may even be considered a fashionable or acceptable greeting in 'street' slang, of whatever language they speak.

I managed to spin all four wheels of a 4WD Citroen BX I was meant to be looking after when I was a student. The tyres weren't that good, the road was wet, and needless to say, the clutch wasn't much good when my accomplice and I'd finished either.
