Big thanks to Shinerama

I only recently discovered that these guys are very near to me. I was in two minds whether to buy a DA polisher having been thinking about it for ages or to get my paintwork corrected professionally (probably by them). Anyway I took the plunge and bought a DA polisher and took their advice on choice of pads, cutting and finishing polish (I already had clay, wax and various other bits).

They spent ages explaining how best to do the job they mentioned that there was an open day on Sunday (today) where they would be demonstrating various detailing techniques including using a DA polisher. Anyway I went along and they even showed me what to do on one of the worst bits of my car and I learnt that I would have been way too cautious.

So I came home and got straight on with the boot and bonnet, claying, then cutting then fine polishing then waxing and am stunned by the results. I didn't have time to do the whole car today so just did the most noticable parts.

So thanks for the guys at Shinerama for their decent prices and invaluable advice and demos. I couldn't ask for more.

When are you doing the rest of the car? Would be great if I could pop over to see what you've done/doing as I've got the same to do with a DA polisher and Meg Ultimate Compound. Seems we're travelling the same journey with roof an paintwork!

I'd be happy to sort something out. I will have to do the whole car again anyway as what seemed good as the evening drew to an end wasn't as good as I thought once the bright sun came out again.

I'm going to pop over to Shinerama again as they offered to give me more advice. In the meantime I've been getting on with other jobs. I thoroughly cleaned and conditioned all the leather (there's loads on this car), cleaned all the rubber seals (yet to treat them), cleaned all the inside of the panoramic roof and a sorted out a few other bits.
