Thought i'd attached a photo of the rear plate - held on by superstrong double sided tape. Holds well despite the weather/washing etc.

IMO i wouldn't recomend the velcro approach, i did this with my Pajero so it could be removed while off roading (broke 3 front plates using trees to stop !) anyway driving home from norfolk and hit a small(ish) puddle and the plate vanished
this was brought to my attention by a friendly policeman who only gave me a producer so i could get it replaced.
