Just been down to Waltham Cross Mercedes and they have found the whole car has this problem!
Paint defects on near enough every panel and they don't know the answer to this problem next!

F*ck thats bad.

With such a new car you wouldn't really want it to have a full respray either imo.

Do you have pictures of your issue? It doesn't sound the same or as bad as my issue!

Definitely it is resprayed and the reaction is still going on under the clear! It is a typically poor preparation work. The garage have to sand it down to bare metal, epoxy primer, paint and clear! The color doesn`t effect.

You can take as many pictures as you like and it doesn't show!
I don't think a professional could capture these pimples in the paint!
Fire Opal Red don't help this!
Now got to wait for them to get back to me!

I had a problem with an A Class bought as approved used, 6 months old with 7000 miles on the clock. When the car was almost four years old the sealant round the door seams started to come away and there was some rusting. A polite chat with a main dealer (not even the one that sold me the car) led to the car being inspected by an approved body shop and a report sent to Mercedes. I was told that, if the cost of repair would be more than the value of the car, Mercedes would buy it back at the market rate. Otherwise the faults would be rectified. The result was I got the bodywork restored to new condition with four new doors and a tailgate. The bodyshop told me it cost Mercedes 4,500! All this was done with no quibbles whatsoever! That's one of the reasons I have stayed with Mercedes ever since. The moral of this tale is have a friendly chat with another main dealer or write to Mercedes. You might be pleasantly surprised.

It was 5 or so years ago, so I am trying to dredge up my memory of exactly happened. The dealer was Mercedes Coldstream. I am pretty sure that their service advisor simply gave me the contact details of the approved body shop in Newcastle and I contacted them direct. I had to take the car to them for inspection and they forwarded a report to Mercedes who gave the go ahead after a few weeks. I even had a newish C220 Estate to run around in for a couple of weeks while the job was being done. So all the dealer did was give me the contact details. The body shop took it from there.

At least they're not fobbing you off.

I think my problem is my problem, as the car is an 08 plate.

Keep us updated.

Hello mate. Hope you get sorted with the paint issue. A couple of tips for you. Keep calm with whoever you are speaking to as I'm sure they didn't paint the car or cause the defect. Your car should still be under warranty so it should get rectified for you. If all else fails, a nice letter to the head of the dealership outlining all the issues and a mention of the sale of goods act and small claims court should get it sorted. If all else fails see a solicitor for a free advice session and last of all good luck..

Good luck with that, They did mine on Monday when I went to Dartford they told me that it had not been touched ( no repair or respray ) and the paint was how it left the factory

So good luck with yours Rider
