A207 Black single bar grill fitted to the D6..

Pretty much as the title states, had to wait the whole day to get it fitted since it was delivered to my workplace this morning, but I'm more than satisfied with the results!

Pic before:

Quick guide (no detailed fitting pics - sorry!) but if you're looking to change the grill on your 207 coupe/cabrio should be easy to understand..

The grill is surprisingly easy to fit - took about 10 minutes! The stock grill is simply attached by some clips, best way to remove it is to pull at the top corners of either side, unclips fairly easily, the only tricky bit is the part behind the badge, just apply light downward pressure to the part of the clip that becomes exposed and it should prise out, clean around the area of where the grill sat and place your new shiny (or matte black) single bar grill in.

During:

The top half of the grill is a bit more difficult, undo the 3 pins - simple job with a flat head screwdriver, for the other clips that hold the grill in place work from the outside in using the trusty flat head screwdriver to gently release each clip from the bonnet, once you've done that a firm pull down will release the grill and you're ready to line the new upper section to fit in place (after you've wiped the area clean of course!)

After:

Couple more shots from further out:

So there we go, single bar grill on an A207 Cabrio, I think it should have come with one as standard though that would have been chrome not black but I like the black.

Goes nice with the wheels.

You need a mowing strip or a bed of roses around the house though.

Thanks! Yeah, that part of the grass is going to be paved over soon - when I can be bothered to sort it out along with landscaping the back... hayfever = hatred for gardening

Looks very nice!

Is the black mesh the same pattern/size as the original grill?

The star is the same size as the one on the OE grill, got a brand new one included with the grill, the mesh behind the grill is the same size/pattern (in my eyes) or very very close to it so doesn't look odd compared to the lower mesh.

@ Dr. Nab

Hi,

I've got the same E cabrio 350cdi in diamond white!! =D
But mine is with AMG 19" spoke alloys and Tan ledder seats...

I was looking for the one fin grill just like the newer look on CLS and SLK AMG's...
Yours was the first that I saw. Congrats!!
I'm going for the silver fin finish since my alloys are not black...
Your grill is from 55tech right? Are they ok to buy from?
Does it fit properly or better go to a dealer for a safer swap?

What about the brabus D6 kit... =D =D =D
How much was it? About 2000€?
How do you compare it with stock version? Did you notice a big difference in acelleration?
Normally I get around 10liters/100km average consumption, What do you get with brabus?
Do you have the Sport dynamic handling package? I have it, and it makes a big difference in how the gear behaves... The problem is that it makes the ride even more firmer which I prefer not to use since 80% the time I'm the city... I would like to have the faster/sportier gear changes without the firmier ride...
How this sport button works with brabus D6? Do you know?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Best regards

lol i'm clearly in the minority... and while the new grill looks really nice; i really like the original one as well... perhaps a little more than the one you've fitted...

Remember me? LOL
I'm about to buy the new grill from 55tech right like yours

Another thing I would like to change are the boomerang led daytime lights.
I would like to have some like the new E salon 63amg model, cls amg... the ones that stay on the upper part of the "air vent" touching the bumper.
Have you seen something like it that we can adapt to our model, since we have no official AMG?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Best regards

One of the very very few aftermarket grilles i've seen that i like.

Good job.

Normally aftermarket grilles are frankenstein horrors.
