Sounds like you have flattened the battery? Go for a decent run, or charge the battery, and reset the message and see if it reaccurs.

Yes it means that you have a flat battery - ie, only enough charge to start the car and do the basics. Occurs on new SL's quite a lot so I've heard. Run the car for about 30 minutes, nothing too fast / fancy, and you should find the message goes. During the period, items such as electric seats, etc all will not function, as the car places priority on safety items, not luxuries for power !

All explained in the manual btw....

I've had this error too, and it came on whilst driving up the M1 at 70mph and I'd been driving for a good 1.5 hours. So how could the battery be flat!

Plgibson, I'd be interested to hear more about your command retro fit. Who fitted it?

Richard.

I'm not saying that you are wrong about the battery Richard, but the battery can still go flat at 70 mph if it is not charging mate.

But wouldn't it still be flat restarting the car? Yet that solved the problem, the light went out instantly. The way it came on whilst driving makes me thinks its a fault somewhere rather than a flat battery.

Resetting it when you restart cancels out all faults, albeit temporarily. However if the battery was charged enough to not trip the fault light then it wouldn't come on till next time? :(

There must be something in the air. My comand is now not showing any map! Just a blank screen with my location circle on. However it knows where I am and also gives me directions. It is like this in all views even Info/Route. It did this a few days ago, but once I had switched off it then started working again. Tonight it did it again.

Any ideas on this one?

I get this message all the time randomly...Consumer electronics switched off...the dealer thought it ws the battery,,,,they say they replace it...but still get the message. It started to happen when i installed new parking sensors last year...straight after in fact.

It seems some of the wiring may not be put in right connection of command or more likely the system "thinks something new is added" and there give an error message...most likely a software issue than a flat battery...you can take it to dealer to have it checked...but i hope they don't add another problem to it..
