C240 Sport Facelift Headlight

I have just noticed a chip in the oftside headlight glass on my C240 sport.

Does this mean a complete new unit or can I just change the glass? If the glass can be changed does anyone have an 'idiots Guide' to doing it please?

You can just change the Glass

www.eurocarparts.com sell them . . . just make sure they sell you a facelift one, rather than a pre-facelift (as they did to me !!) - I still haven't got round to returning it, changing it for the right one, and fitting it yet - but when I did try to remove the old glass, it was not an easy job - in fact I'm going to have to get a Haynes manual to work out how to get to one of the securing screws on the inside (radiator side) of the headlamp surround.

my howto on the w140 version should be similar... just checked epc - the thing that stood out was that the cover under the light is secured to the bumper / wing on the 'outside' end (furthest fromt he radiator) wit a screw going upwards - so i guess you remove that from within the wheelarch / under the bumper.

the rest looks very similar in principle.

Cheers Guy - I'll take a look - that would make sense, as there seems to be no apparent way of getting to it from the side without major removal work !!
