Cigarette Lighter not working

I am not getting any power from my cigarette lighter. Is this due to a faulty fuse or something more serious? Any ideas?

Could well be the fuse . . have you checked ?

Changed all the fuses on my W210 ('97 model), but no luck. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Will be complicated and expensive to repair?

If the electrical connection to the Ashtray is anything like the W202, I would doubt very much that it has become loose, however you would probably need to remove half of the dash in order to check this.

Does the illumination bulb in the ashtray light up ? This is fed by the same power feed, so might lend some clues as to where your problem is.
