Hello, just a quick question for those in the know. I also have a VW Polo (MY 04) that came with what is called a VW "Beta" branded radio cassette. It supplies, I believe, two main speakers and two tweeters all in the front door and door pillar i.e. no fader. I would like to upgrade the unit to CD or MD (yes I know! :o ) without adding extra speakers but all the sets I have looked at say 4 x so many watts etc. Does this mean that they have 4 seperate amplifiers within or are there 2 which are split by a fader? The upshot is can I retro fit something with 4 x whatever and run the fader fully front?, will this blow any hidden amplifiers?, therefore do I have to fit two new rear speakers?

Any help will be much appreciated

I don't think you have a problem. The headunit will have an internal amp (apart from top end pro units) which you will be able to fade front or rear as much or as little as you want. Will do no harm.
