OK, E320 Cdi, 4 years old, new to me as of Saturday. Unable to test cruise on test drive. Tried it on the motorway home having picked the car up - not working. No other problems ( so far!), no warning lights an on-board computer says no malfuntion. The cruise system has the variable speed-limiter funtion as well. When that is engaged, neither the lamp on the instrument cluster nor on the cruise control lever light up.
Having searched the forum, it appears that it could be as simple as a fault with an ABS sensor (thanks, Dieselman). Is there anything else it could be?
