Hi all,

Does anyone know how to get at the fog light on a CLK W208?

The nearside unit has got a stone through the glass and put smashed it. I have the replacement glass and I tried to get the fog light unit off yesterday (through the access hatch under the car that is used for replacing the bulb).

However, I don't see how the unit comes away from the car so that I can drop it out and replace the glass.

Can anyone advise?

Cheers

Guy

Help guys! ! ! !

Have had another look see and I really can't figure out how to get the body of the fog light away from the bumper to allow me to remove it and replace the glass.

Doesn't anyone know how this works? Someone else must have had a damaged fog light at some point

Cheers

Guy

Hi there,

I have a W210 and replaced the front fog light glass before but not too sure whether it is the same as yours.

There is a single bolt at the end of the light housing holding the unit to the car chassis. Undo this bolt. When this is done, push the fog light unit in from the front carefully but firmly( be careful with the broken glass). The light unit is held by two/three fastener on the top corners which will come out under pressure. Onec the whole unit pops out, disconnect the plug and withdraw the unit through the access hatch and the rest will be obvious. Refitting is the reverse.
Good luck.
