you need the double-din inner dash frame (costs about £5), A210 689 09 16
That comand is apparently both canbus and non-canbus! You might get some interesting results with it :)
The GPS extension cable is A203 540 70 06, it costs about £20.
The most expensive item you will need (other than the unit itself) is the wooden dashboard facia! It costs about £150!

the facia needs to be orderered specific to the switch positions on your car and the wood type. there are some on ebay - worth seeing if they suit your car . you could always go for more switch holes to allow for future mods. just buy a switch to fill the void till then.
from memory, the 208 comand has different fixing brackets. if yours has any fitted I will swap you for a set of the E class L shape brackets. They use the same scews - just in different holes.
Also you may need a canbus adapter to enable the coamdn to illuminate with the rest of your car. I have one of those for sale if you need one.
pm me for more info.

I have the exact same command unit, but ive not fitted it yet, mine is going in a CLK (pre-facelift), so i should have no problems with fitting.
The only Thing im a little confused about it if the unit is can-bus or not? If it need an adapter ill just wait till i get myself a convertable then fit it, as it wont need it. If i can get away without a converter ill fit it,
Can some one let me know if it is or it isnt,
Cheers
Thanks for all the pointers guys.
Shude, part numbers were very handy.
Akash, i think you will find it is not canbus...well mine is not anyway.
MB quoted £176 rrp for the fascia, luckily had the correct one, well was one switch out, easily fixed that.
Cheers Guys

From what you described to me after fitting, it is definately a non canbus version.
Like my E class non canbus comand in a non canbus car you have the same issue with the comand not illuminating with the cars lights.
The only way to cure this (IMHO) irritating aspect is to fit a canbus adapter - why it doesnt work I dont know. But from experience, the Canbus adapter fixes it. ... You could always just manually push the display button and save £100 or so! ;)
Thanks for all the help.
Steve (MBenzNL) has very kindly helped me with another piece that you need to fit this unit, which is an outer front plastic surround.
I am now at the stage of hooking it all up, but have decided to incorporate the phone system, what will i need for this?
Many Thanks again.

The wooden fascia part number depends on model year, trim spec and options! There are literally dozens of items for all permutations!
Using your VIN and some creativity it is possible to track down the right one. Bear in mind that if you ask the stealership for help you will need to tell them that the car has retrofitted COMAND as your VIN will not tell them this ;) .

These fascia parts are expensive and as Shude says, there are dozens of permutations. Talk to Don777 he has just finished retro fitting COMAND to his W210.
