Can anyone give me some suggestions:
I have just purchased an AMG interior for my merc but it has electric front seats. Does anyone have any info on a conversion? In theory it seems straight forward but the door inserts have the seat switches built in so a wiring diagram would be usfull!!
Cheers

What car??!!
You will need the seats, the door card with switches and the loom.

Its for a c230K sport 2000 model
The interior was from a 98 sport but is definately the AMG Spec
I have the door cards and seats with the Switches. I think I will have to visit the Stealership for the loom.
Any suggestions?

I have just been down the stealership.
The parts dept suggested that they could fit the bits for around £1000.00.
After I had recovered from my triple heart bypass operation, another guy who was listening suggested powering the seats geting them in a comfortable position and leaving them?
Anyone have any thoughts!!

There have been some members here that have done an interior swap on the W202. I think the best person to ask would be Koolvin but he's been rather busy of late with other committments. Hopefuly one of the other guys will answer your question soon. Another person who would have invaluable knowledge would be MBenzNL (http://www.mbenz.nl/), what Steve doesn't know about Mercs isn't worth knowing.

The looms are a lot less than that and the fitting is a fairly simple operation, plug-and-play with a facelift model. Exactly which parts do you need? I will be at the stealership tomorrow and I can look up the part numbers and prices for you.

Beers available in Milton Keynes if you are are about!!
I have got the seats door inserts and I am picking up the control units tommorow, what would be useful is the loom cost. Mine is the last of the old shape C classes as represented so nicely in your picture. Is this also plug and play??
I cannot believe it is as difficult as the stealer suggest.

If you already have the doorpanels with switches and have the seats - then all that is needed is a wiring harness...that harness isn't cheap - but for 1000 pounds I will bring you a set and install it as well (coming from the Netherlands)...

btw: if you got C43 seats - you got seats that are heated and ortopedic adjusteable as well...be sure to hook that up while you are at it as it is worth the extra time (and money) spend...
If you already have heated seats - it is plug and play...if you don't have heated seats right now - you need the switches (I have those) - wiring (not too expensive) and a diffferent console panel (I have sport ones - not wood ones).
The ortopedic seats only need some vacuum tubes and a dealer activation of the central locking pump to get the outlet for the orto seats activated...

You are correct they are the ortha -whatsit seats. I am assured that you also need the controller boxes for the seats but these I dont have. It must be relatively simple though to get the chair motors activated as they only work on reverse polarity.

I could do with advice on this, I dont want to fudge it. Is there anywhere to get a circuit diagram?

I sold my AMG interior to PEPE from this site and he put it in himself, i sold him the wiring with it and he didnt have much bother so send him a PM.
As for the orthopaedic seats i have them also but havnt plumbed them in yet, asking the dealership is hopeless as they believe something from a slightly different spec car is impossible to fit, i heard it was two pumps in the boot to work these (from a 2000 C43) does this sound correct? If anyone knows any part numbers or prices for these parts i would be gratefull
Cheers

You don't need any circuit diagrams...it is all plug and play...
As for the orto seats - there is one vacuum pump in the trunk (the central locking) pump that comes in many different set ups depending on year and options the car came with from factory...it might be the vacuum pump needs to be replaced for a different one (pre 97) or might be that the pump is compatible already and orto seats only require activation of the orto outlet on the vacum pump (97+ with climate automatic)...
besides the vacuum pump, a vacuum tank, vacuum lines - you need the controlers on the inside of the seats...I presume your C43 seats came with thos otherwise the seller must have cut vacuum lines to take it off...
The rest (power seats and heated seats) is a plain plug and play upgrade.

Did you also sell the chair controller boxes cause I dont have these. I am not to worried about the orthopaedic bits yet. Are the controllers important for simple movement of the chairs as I assume they work on reverse polarity.

No, just a handfull of wires.
just got back from weekend away. all i did was connect the live feeds which are supposed to come from the fuse box in boot to a positve feed which already existed in the door sills and fused them there. it looked a lot more complicated than it was. the seats plug into the switch harness so it was just a matter of applying power to the positive feeds and then connecting the earths to the body of the car. had no problems with mine. took me about a day to get it all neatly installed and working .
