upgrading my stero to iso connections.

in the iso connection i have a red, blue, orange,yellow and black what is each one used for! and could anybody tell me what i have to wire up to make compactablly with the w126. ie w126 wiring has a a brown, red/white, black, black/lillac and lilac/purple.

please help no music for weeks.

Do you have a tester, 12v tester of some description or a multimeter.

You need to work out what cables are what in the merc.

Minimum requirements would be...

+12V permanent (live all the time) YELLOW
+12V Accessory (live when key turned) RED
GND BLACK

Others are probably for antenna, radio mute etc....

Red - accesory live
Yellow - Permanent Live
Blue - switch out (used for electric aerial/external amp)
Orange - illumination, so it works with your light switch, if you do not connect this, most headunits will permanently have full illumination.
Black - Earth

Brown is usually earth on W126
On the coloured ones, is one colour more of a stripe?
