Power and wake up cable?

I dont have a wiring diagram..........the optical cable is getting a signal ok
will it have altered anything within the settings if the unit has been switched from MB10 to comand unit

Been having some trouble and have used a known good source my MB10 to fault diagnose

If you switch from an Audio10 unit to comand then you need to make sure that the power and wakeup are properly connected. The connections are different from an Audio10. Basically on an Audio10 the power and wakeup are on pin 5,6 and 4 of the C plug. On comand these need to go to pin6 and pin5 of the C1 (ie they are flipped over) and the wakeup (c pin 4) goes to pin 10 of the C2. Without these connections the CD changer will not work at all.

Hope this helps,

Am i correct in saying these pins are on the single electrical connector for the MB10?

I have an adapter as photo below....I assume this will switch the pins as required?

The unit is currently NOT working with either the MB10 or the comand unit?

I simply get a 'no cd' message

The pins for the CD changer are (or should be if the changer was factory fitted) on the C connector on the Audio10. This is the top connection of the three as you look at the back of the Audio10.

What photo are you talking about. I dont see one?

The CD Changer should have two cables going to it. One will be the orange fibre optic pair, the other will be a three wire copper loom. If either of these cables/looms is not inserted or correctly connected, you will get a message saying 'NO CD Changer'

Looks okay from what you have posted. So........

check that the converter actually performs the following adaptations from the C connector to c1 and C2;

C connector Goes to

Pin 1 C2 pin 9
Pin 2 C2 pin 8
Pin 4 C2 Pin 10
Pin 5 C1 pin 6
Pin 6 C1 pin 5

Check this by metering them for continuity. Dont worry about any other pins for now. when you plug the C2 into Comand make sure that it is properly inserted before you actuate the lever to pull it firmly into place. This is a common problem.

With the fibre cable properly and firmly seated in the Comand, then turn the comand on. Does the Cd changer allow you to eject the magazine? If yes, then you have power to it. If not, you dont and thats the first issue to resolve. If it does allow you to eject and you therefore have power, then its either a wakeup issue or a fibre issue.

Do a D2B reset from the diagnostic menu.

My personal feeling is that as the Changer does not work with the audio10 or the comand, then its a cabling issue to the CD changer or a faulty Cd changer.

Try the above and lets go from there.

Alfie,

To confirm...ONLY the fibre cable connected? then try to eject the disc?

No. connect up the loom adapter and all the power stuff.

Best off connecting the whole lot up making doubly sure its all seated properly.

Latest update

For some bizzare reason the Cd changer has burst into life and is now working...can only assume a loose connection somewhere within the plug and a little vibration has made it....will take it off and take a closer look

Thanks to all who helped out....fingers crossed
