Did a silly thing last night. Washed the car and whilst drying off the water from around the engine bay, accidently knocked off the small overflow capsule that push fits onto the side of the battery. It fell down and underneath the front battery.

What I'd like to know is: what systems will I lose when I disconnect the battery to dig out the part? Will the rear battery keep all the systems running like all the memories, trip details, clock, radio settings etc? What will need resetting when I reconnect?

Car is an SL R230. Malcolm, any experience here?

Thanks in advance, Matt

That battery is only a starter battery and nothing else, nothing to re set, just take it out.:D

Thank you, I was not sure how the systems were shared by the 2 batteries. I'll whip it out and find the part which I'm going to glue or tape in place to stop it happening again.

Thank you very much for your help. Have a great day. Matt

All done. Battery out, part recovered and taped to the battery, and all back in - no worries, 15 mins. Thanks
