Hello
I wonder if anyone can help? I have a 2000 model ML 270CDI. The other day the cruise stopped working. Later I noticed the brake lights were permanently on. I assume that if the brake lights go off correctly the cruise will work once again. I thought it must be the brake light switch. I have replaced the brake light switch with a new one and this has not fixed the problem. If I disconnect the top 3 wire connector into the brake light switch the brake lights do go off. Any ideas what to do next?
Many thanks

It could be a faulty switch, or the cable is out of adjustment, and that is keeping the switch actuated, have you tried pulling the pedal up by hand.
The arrangement is in the link

If the switch is OK when off the pedal, and plugged in, then it has to be the adjustment
