On a cousins 1999 W210 the SRS light both in the cluster and down by the shifter comes on randomly whilst in drive. Sometimes its fine but sometimes it shows up again. Ive heard in the past that the under seat connectors can be loose therefore causing this but after checking these the problem is still ongoing, Any ideas on this one ?

Seat regognition pad on the passenger seat is the most common cause.

Some people condemn me when I say that sometimes the break can be seen and repaired.
As it is a safety item some folk say that it should be replaced

I checked the three wires and the yellow connector recently and they look fine and firm to me so im taking it is the unit that needs replacing

One can often see the fault on the pad,,you have to take it off anyway
A multimeter confirms all
