Bluetooth car stereos...any good?

Has anyone got any experience of these?

I am thinking of buying one.

I did just want one that could play mp3 but when I looked into it there seemed to be some really good features available like bluetooth, USB slot, etc.

I also heard that the govt. wants to completely ban all phone calls in cars and if that is so then I have no problem with that but I was also told that it could take years for them to ban it...don't know.

This would solve your hands free part partially. I understood that UK has the same regulation as we have, you're not supposed to have to hold the phone when answering/dialling. You would need a cradle and you would have to put the phone there when calling/answering from the car.

If it was MB OEM, you could leave the phone to your pocket because you don't have to touch the phone.

Ok. So if I get a cradle aswell then that would keep everything nice and legal.

To be fairly honest although the one on ebay that you have shown is cheap and does have alot of gear it just wont be up to scratch when it comes to build quality and sound quality. In my opinion I would recomend a Pioneer branded unit with Bluetooth if Bluetooth is the main feature your after. Although this one is a bit more expensive it should catter for all your needs and will deffinatly be worth it for the sound quality:

Although it dont have any extras like USB or Card Reader it does have Bluetooth and AUX in. Its sound quality is amazing as is with all Pioneer units and has many illumination colours so you can match up with your interior.
