Hard drive COMAND

I have been told by the dealers that V4 2007 is the latest navigation software availble for my 2007 S class. My current software certatinly tells me I am off road a fair amount on any recent stretches of new road.
Does any wise sort know how I can find out what version I am currently running? It was easy with a DVD based system, but the hard drive was already pre-loaded when I bought the car and I can not find the right buttons to press to tell me the version!
Don't want to update to the same version! :crazy:

MB Germany web accessories lists this DVD the current one: B6 782 3659. http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/ lists the part but indicates it would be for other cars:confused:

What is your build date? 4.0 has been used in production since 4/2007 (starting from VIN A114342), version 5.1 sine 10/2007 and 6.0 was estimated for 12/2007.

The version can be read with any DVD but if you don't have any, it does not work. The map version can be read with DAS, but not even there for a range of Comand SW versions (the latest gives the map data).

Thanks, my car is early 2007 build with a Vin prior to A114342, so I guess I am on an early version, but I have no DVD.
The dealers are offering version 4.0, but it sounds like I should wait until 6.0 become available as 4.0 seems well out of date allready!
