R230 Sat Nav

I recently got a 03 SL350 but there is no Sat Nav CD with it. I am chasing up the previous owner. If this fails to produce it, what is the best way forward? Does the latest (07/08) CD work straightaway or does it need an earlier CD installed first? ( you will have guessed correctly that I know little or nothing about Comand)
Somewhere along the line I recall a member's company offering a discount to other members. Does anyone the amount of the discount?

You will need the Command DX disc for you fine motor car and owner of distinction.

Not sure if Alfie does the DX otherwise they are on offer from Tele Atlas in germany
