ML270CDI No warm air inside until I re-start the engine. [Archive]

Not sure what is going on.

2 / 10 times my ML 270 will have no warm air inside and If I re-start the engine, its fine.

Any ideas what it might be?

Is it a 163.113 car? Which AC option does it have? Do you have a diesel aux heater? If yes, can you hear it operating?

What do you mean with restarting fixing the issue. Do you mean the engine is warm at this time but no heat before you restart the car?
The issue must be one of the following (likely the last one):
- the aux heater only kicking in at a restart (not the case if the engine already is warm but still no heat before a restart).
- an issue with the AC flaps
- an issue with one of the sensors (sun sensor?)
- an issue with the water valves (didn't see which ones the car would use)
- something completely different.
