We need your help!

I cant think of a better place anywhere to ask this question so here goes.

If you had an older (say three years or more) Mercedes that had a fixed phone installed like the Nokia kit often seen around and you wanted to relatively cheaply update it to a bluetooth solution or similar, but you didnt know where to look, what would you type in to Google to search for it?

Your constructive comments are welcomed.

When I first bought my MB was looking to upgrade from Nokia 6210.
Typed into google "mercedes, nokia 6210 upgrade" and came up with some useful info, including mercupgrades.com!

+ cradle

Guessing your thinking of ideas for meta data to push you up the rankings?

Maybe things like

blue, tooth, parrot, headset, head set, phone, mobile, cradle, nokia, power, lead, wireless, wire less, cable, mercedes, 6310, 6310i, 6210, etc.

I'm looking for the words you would type in to google if you were looking to have your MB phone kit updated.

Thanks,

Hi

Do you have something that will convert a NOkia 6310i cradle to bluetooth? NOT MB....its a Honda so the functionality of the Viseeo isnt needed (nor the price)..

Cheers..

PS.. The Comand is Brill - thanks...

Perhaps your web should talk about "Nokia phone kit conversion to bluetooth hands free on a Mercedes". I guess bluetooth should appear with different spellings too.

Isn't the question about the ViseeO device, would be a miss hit for Motorola phone users?

Alfie, if this is something you are going to put on Google search engines etc, whats up with MB Phone Update Kit. If its being pushed by a third party, you are normally allowed about 20 words, so anything mobile-phone-update-Mercedes-Benz-Upgrade and so on, will lead to your site and you just make the item you are selling prominent on your page. You just need to get your bits near the top of the search engine.

Wouldnt it be easier to have a UHI fitted and then a bluetooth module fitted....all MB approved?

The argos is about £450 & works with most phones, fitting a wired kit as merc is about £1500 i think.

Yes its to optimise Google searching.

Getting to the top of the rankings isnt very difficult at all but getting into the minds of future customers to find out what they would actually use as a search string only comes from asking those who'd know. ie this forum:)

I found this forum for this very issue & I stayed around :D

IIRC I searched Mercedes COMAND + Nokia 6310i and came across a post here...

Found the other forum too at the time but this one was more helpful :bannana:

Has there been any movement on this yet?

I am desperate for a bluetooth system that I can plug in that'll interface with my Comand and steering wheel buttons. There is no pre-wiring in my W210.

comandonline.co.uk sells a UHI retrofit kit for D2B cars. D2B being the technology in your particular car, and UHI being the system with exchangeable phone cradles.
If going bluetooth dont worry about centre console parts, just put the UHI connector in the main glovebox and plug the bluetooth cradle in there. The trouble with the old COMAND systems is you can not use the mercedes HFP cradle (the cheapest (£210), you have to use SAP cradle (£299) with a SAP capable phone (i.e Nokia !), or a 6310i cradle and a visseo (about £450)

So all in all you are taking about a fair wedge to make your steering wheel buttons and cluster work - but its very good when it does !

Cheers

Richard
