I have been given the following part names and numbers for cables to fit a CD changer (Model No. is MC3330) recently purchased from ebay to a 2001 E55 AMG estate:
208 540 82 05 - D2B CDc cable
210 440 49 05 - CDc power cable
000 545 33 84 - 180 degree fiber connector
However, I have not found anywhere in the UK able to supply them and no doubt I will then have issues with installation.
Any info/suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks
BeareG

Just checked this site and all parts are available for less than £60 (plus VAT of course).
When you type the part numbers in just prefix them all with an A and remove the spaces. i.e. 000 545 33 84 is A0005453384.

Hi Luis;

Have a look at this thread (http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=34916) it hould have everything you need to know including how to check to see if you have pre-wire.

Good luck

To be honest, I went down the same route, found that my car didn't have the cables prewired,so I saved myself a lot of hasstle and got myself an Alpine CD player and changer complete with the wiring from ebay.

Its by far a better unit than the one supplied by MB and is also far less hastle to install.

At the time I did some investigation onto this and I was informed that it is the American market models that are prewired for just about everything.

does anyone know how many cables we have to plug in to the changer bcause off the changer i got the fibre optic that goes in to the radio but requires another cable isnt it?
and the back of my audio 10 has cables coming off from the other 3 connections.
so it might be prewired and cant find the cable neither in the glovebox boot or under the seat or it can be right in front of my eyes and I cant see :)
happy days:D never removed and fitted back a radio so many times before in my life. i´m a radio remover expert by now. :D
but still no changer :(

These cables are in a ring, in one and out to the next object in the ring

My answer here was for when you have 2 fiber optic cables like on the 230 ring.

The post below by desilva is correct in that you still must have a power lead

Two cables...one is fibre optic and the other is power.

As I said, you will find that the majority of UK spec models were not prewired.

It is the American market models that have the wiring.
