Hi There All

I am sure this has been answered 100 times before but I have some questions on my COMAND system. C200K 2001 model....

How do I activate the TV tuner, what do I need and where can I get it?

Same as above but can I play DVD on there?

My COMAND manual (hardback book) tells me how to watch, tune etc.. also Videotext??? How do I access??

I get really confused at all this, i.e. there version of COMAND it is etc....so if anyone can explain the different types of COMAND system that would be useful. All I know is mine only plays a CD not a DVD...

Also, I have a 2004 teleatlas disk, is there an update for this?

If you push the TV button and it says No TV, then you do not have a TV tuner. The digi tuner retro fit is £650 but there are other ways to do it, if you really want it.

You can buy a 2007 disc from Alfie our resident Command man

Yup just bought the 2007 Sat nav CD from alfie, works a treat :)

I do have the TV tuner and to be honest the reception quality is crap at best. I am currently looking into getting an adaptor for a DVD player to plug into it as the magic code to allow a picture above 5mph has eluded everyone so far..

Not much help I know, but I am working on this myself.

£150 for the one with TMC or £99 without if I remember correctly.

TMC Traffic center service, I believe that all of the disc have this function

The TMC option costs more, I tried different suppliers who stated Genuine discs at lower prices than what Alfie offered, and to be fair they did look almost Genuine but didn't work when I put them in the command unit, simply wouldn't run.

I then bit the bullet and paid full whack from Alfie, worked first time including TMC.

TMC - It tunes itself into "Classic FM" as thisis the only station which sends the correct signals for traffic jam updates etc. TMC basically keeps the Command unit aware of traffic jams or road diversions etc and can save you time by avoiding them etc.

The Teleatlas outlet they use gets a significant discount compared to what they offer me:( I can match their prices for non forum members and just about beat them for established forum members and can offer them free under certain circumstances;)

I can honestly say that as a company we make very very little on the disks. We sell them because we want to offer genuine disks to customers who buy a unit from us and we want to be able to use the Teleatlas logo on the website:)

What I do guarantee is that if you buy any disk from us we will do our utmost to make sure its the right disk for the car and if by some strange quirk it doesnt work, we will refund in full.
