Hi All
Hope you can help. I've just picked up my shiney 99 S500 which has a car kit fitted but no phone. It is a COMAND model and the kit is in the arm rest with a cradle and lead. I can't find a part no on the cradle and the connector doesn't look like any Nokia connector that I can remember. Does anybody have any ideas how I can identify which phone I need?
Many Thanks

Pretty sure they came with Nokia 6210.

I thought a 6210 as well but there is no way the connector would fit a Nokia

I think its the 6310, not the 6210
I bought a 6310i (6310 but with bluetooth) from ebay for £50 when I got my W220 intially just to put the sim in when i was in the car but now I just use it all the time. I never ever charge it at home, the battery lasts 5+ days turned on 24hrs and the boost it gives it when I'm in the car means never charge it in the house. I've got a Nokia 6233 with all sorts of stuff that just sits in the car now doing nothing!

I think that the 6210 was used 2000-2002/ then the 6310, the 6210 was standard in my 2002 SL

Im reasonably sure that the 99 cars had Nokia 3110 in them.
Does part of the cradle pop up ? If so, its 3110.
Luckily the wiring is identical to the later 6310 kits, so you can change the control unit and the cradle mounting/plate etc.
Or, you could talk to Steve@mbenznl.com he probably does the bits to switch to UHI (so you have changeable cradles or bluetooth)

Yes thinking of it I read a post a couple of weeks back where the 3110 was used

Thanks for the info, it is definately a 3110, if the wiring is identical for the 6310 does that mean I can just change the cradle. Or is there more to it. It's just 3110 are a bit thin on the ground.

You'll need a new phone module (called a PSE). On the W220 it's located under the rear seat squab (think it's on the left hand side).
