wiper parking problem

The Wiper On My 94 Sl500 Parks In Any Position And Also Stops Anywhere When On Intermittant Wipe. I Have Been Advised By Merc Dealer Its Probably The Position Sensor Inside The Motor And They Want To Take All My Dinner Money Off Me To Repair It. Can Anyone Tell Me If This Is The Most Likely Cause And Also Any Info On Wiper Motor Removal Would Be Greatly Appreciated

It probably is the park switch stuck open or broken so the wiper stops as soon as the power is cut instead of continuing to sweep until the end of the full sweep.
The switch is in the gearbox section.

You could unplug the N10 relay in the fuse box, that contains the intermitant wiper electronics, if it still does not park then the wiper leaf switch could be at fault, in side the motor.

If it parks in the normal mode the wiper motor is OK
