Just recently, when the key is placed in the ignition, nothing happens and the central display tells me ESP defective and the car won't start. I try it again and then it works. The car cranks on 1 to 4 attempts. Once started the car runs great and the fault indicator goes away.
Local dealership says to change ECU & front right SAM at a cost of around 2k.
This started to happen after the turbo was changed by same dealership.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If it has FMBSH I would push for MB to cover this... seems bad for this to fail on a car only 4 years old.
