COMAND 2.5 (A220 820 4889) . retrofit on my S320 2001 WDB2200652A224328

The COMAND unit has 2 black plastic brackets (A220 689 0214) attached either side which slide into fittings either side of some kind, presumably to hold in place and take the weight. Will these fittings be there already or do I need to buy them? If needed what part numbers do I need? I asked MB dealers a week ago, they aren't much use and dont seem interested

thanks

Hi Chas,

I think you may just need 4 x A001 984 56 29 screws also to hold them although its not obvious from EPC and probably worth ordering them if you don't want to take the car apart twice.

Theres nothing else obvious on EPC , and it looks like the brackets slide into

You also have to take out the housing that is in the way (the storage compartment) and replace the wood front, and change the wiring loom (or find someone that sells an adapter, which I think you have done) - as I said in a PM, *never* plug standard DIN wiring into a COMAND2.5 or COMAND2.5 wiring into a non COMAND as it uses DIN plugs with completely different wiring (stupid thing for Bosch to have done).

Theres nothing else obvious on EPC , and it looks like the brackets slide into the channels that held the storage compartment in.
