Hi guys,

I'm a newbie here - see here

I'm currently having some issues with spotlights i've fitted on the 123 and was wondering if anyone could shed any light (pardon the pun) on the problem.

I fitted 4 cibie super oscars with 55w bulbs in each and wired each pair through a relay kit as follows:

Fused Red wire from relays straight to the battery
Blue wires from relays scotch locked into main beam circuit behind the car headlights
Earths from relay to car body
yellow wires from relays to spotlights.

I used 2 relay kits, One running the top pair of spots from the offside mainbeam circuit and the other running the bottom pair of spotlights from the nearside mainbeam circuit. Both relay kits came pre wired at the relay and just needed wiring to the car and the spots.

My probles is a follows:

With the ignition on (engine running as i'm aware the light will put a significant drain on the battery) the spots and mainbeams on the car flash perfectly in sync together with the headlights swited off.

But.... as soon as i hit main beam or flash with the headlights switched onto dipped position, the nearside headlight goes out and the top and bottom spots come on with a slight time delay between them, then when the main beam is turned off or the flash is released the top set go out a second after the main beams in the headlights and the bottom set stay on until the heedlights (side and dipped) are turned off completeley.

I know this sounds complicated but it's driving me mad!

Can anyone with some electrical knowledge please help before pull the rest of what little hair i have left out.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
