I am thinking of getting some headlamps from germany, but then assume they are going to be for LHD vehicles. Is there any way I can convert them or adjust the setting to RHD? As i am sure I will fail MOT with the LHD ones - am I right?

In addition to failing the MOT you'll also blind oncoming vehicles ;)
Try looking for headlamps destined for Japan/Hong Kong instead! :)

I don't understand how as the reflectors and lenses are moulded to point the wrong direction!
If you are refering to a correction lever behind the headlamp unit, this just knocks the tops off the beam and is not a permanent solution.

Even if the lenses were clear, the lamps themselves project the wrong shape beam. It would be nice if there was a switch or even a software setting from the cluster. Announcement on passing the border: "I see from COMAND/GPS that you're in France now. Allow me to change the speedo to KPH, time to central European and the headlamps to right hand traffic. Bon Voyage!" er, or something like that :)

A word of caution Chris - I wanted a specific type of headlight ( for my old Volvo ) that I could initially only find in LHD. Having searched and waited for a long time, the design I was after came up on ebay advertised ' for RHD '. I asked the seller on numerous occasions if they were 100% intended for RHD, to which he categorically said yes. Anyway, after buying them and spending several hours fitting them I took them straight to an MOT garage where they put the car infront of their headlight-level machine and guess what " ...these are LHD mate". Great. I am currently trying to get my money back as the seller insists they are RHD.
Motto - Be VERY cautious before handing your money over

W210 Xenons are exactly the same, just change the glass over:D

wouldn't that be a big job to change over the lenses as i'm sure it sounds easier than it is..
p.s. I have been looking on the forum, and rixx has installed the type of headlights I am talking about and he says that he has adjusted them?

Also another quick question - can any of these headlamps for the w210 if bought in RHD be modified to fit the w208?

Or better, on entry to Germany, automatically disable the 155mph speed limiter!:D
