Hi All,

I just bought a 2000 S500, I can't seem to get the TV function to work. When I press the button nothing happens, am I doing something wrong? I know it is not supposed to work when the car is moving etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mark.

Are you sure a tv tuner is installed? This is an option, not standard (the button is obviously always there).

Cheers for that, maybe I don't have a tuner? Are they available? Also Satnav CD's for Europe. I have the UK and Eire one but I need one for mainland Europe too!

Sorry for all the questions but I have no idea where else to look!!

I have a tuner if you need one.

Yes, you should be able to get a tuner retrofitted. Alfie on this forum probably can tell you more.

You can buy the CDs here:
http://www.navshop.com/

If your CD is quite old, it's best to get the newest edition.

That is true of course, but I'm not a big fan of ebay for sat nav CDs for a variety of reasons:

You have little real guarantee about the state the CD is in, if it's scratched it might not work (I found the COMAND cd drive to be fairly sensitive about CD surface damage)
You have to make sure you get the right one for your particular COMAND version and not all ebay sellers actually know what they are talking about in this respect
The ebay CDs sometimes are older versions, whereas what you really want is the latest version, so that its road info is up to date. This is particularly important if you want to use TMC in the UK - I have found that the older CDs, even those that state they support TMC here, fail to work properly, whereas the latest release works fine for me.

If money is not an issue and have plenty to spend I can buy from traders.

Otherwise, I prefer to buy from ebay for a variety of reasons.

1) I can find a cd on ebay for £20 instead of £100 elsewhere
2) If the item is not in good description as described, I can still return it to the seller (ebay and paypal not as described buyer protection applies)
3) I can ask the seller to give me the product part number and can check with dealer and manufacturer if it is the right one.

I would not buy a scatched one anyway. I would ask as many questions as possible before I buy.

I hope this helps
