I have a problem with the MB cd changer in my w203.

After removingb the cartridge to swap the cd's it now doesn't find any cd's in the magazine. it goes to each slot but doesn't access the trays.

I tried removing the power and optic cables with no affect.

Any other ideas or is the unit dead:mad:

Sounds like an internal connection problem if it occured after removing the magazine. Try removing it again and look for any connection that may be durty or bent etc.

took to my local dealers today, they confirmed the cdc is dead, have ordered a new one under the service contract.

I found a guy on ebay that can fix MB cdc for £95 not sure I would go this route though.

How much does Alfie (www.comand.co.uk) charge? The web site appears to be down at the moment

It is not econamically worthwhile to spend 95 pounds for repair. Better get another one from ebay and sell your faulty one for spares. I hope this helps

He's expensive, in the past I have bought 2 fully working MB CDCs on ebay for less than £50 each.
