Radio Code

hi all,
I have a W210 and an audio 10 cd. I called Merc for a replacement code for the radio but the code they give me doesn't work. Its possible the radio has been replaced but no one seems to know.

is there any way I can get a code for the radio?

I did a search and this is about all I came up with. As the car is being sold the Audio 10CD has now been installed. Only to find I dont have the CODE. Do MB charge for the service or do the just need the chassis number?

Free last time I needed it, and they only needed the chassis number as this linked to the original unit.

Yep 2 minute phone call. took the chassis number and all was sorted.

Ooooh, what number did you call? Your local dealer? Mine is still showing code since my battery ran flat...

i should be able to give you the code if you provide me with the serial number and make (on the back of the unit somewhere)...

Thanks Jaymanek. Unfortunately I don't have the magical tools to remove the unit :-| I tried getting it out today with a couple of bits of coat-hanger, but I need something else. Any suggestions as to what to use? :-)

Yes I just called the local dealer and gave them the chassis number.

I had to go into dealers with ID and LOGBOOK

you need the radio removal tools, a coat hanger will not work! local motor factor should supply you with the tool for a couple of quid..
