I've just bought a 1995 W124 estate - it came with a flip out key and a smaller normal-looking key. i presume that this is the alarm override. the problem is, where the devil do I put it?
I have looked in the engine bay and under the passenger footwell but can't find a keyhole anywhere
any ideas?

If it is the Scorpion alarm the key fits into a slot on the back of the Alarm horn, on my w201 it was partially hidden by the alarm cables and had a plastic cap over the key hole, probably to keep dirt and grime out.
My alarm disable/enable keyhole is in the glovebox.
As said, 1995 model will likely have the key switch for the alarm on the siren itself - could be covered though.
Have a good hunt around in the engine bay in daylight :)

Look just in front of the battery (right hand side, looking from the front of the car)
Mine has a black rectangular box with LaserLine written on it in green. One end is covered in a rubber shroud and there is a keyhole under there.
Hope this helps

Look at the picture of my engine (link below)
Alarm siren is immediately to right of ABS - rectangular black box.
Top left is circular cap - keyhole underneath.
All it does is switch off siren - NOT immobiliser.

Thanks everyone - del knew what I was after! Shame that they key doesn't immobilise the immobiliser! At least nobody will steal this car while I am waiting for the V5/Key
