Yes true version 5.0 is not compatible. Version 6.1 is the latest, check availability as Last time I looked it was on back order but stocks were due around about now. Part number is B67823641

The A,B,C,CLK and Smart fourfour use one type of disk, and the other cars use another. From what I read, the other cars (E, SL, S, CLS etc) current release with UK TMC support is 5.0

This morning I looked at a B-Class car that had just arrived from factory to my dealer (a couple of days ago), and that had V4.0 part nr A169 827 20 59, B6782 3386 in it. That does not have UK TMC support.

I ordered 6.1 from a German dealer last week, but they have told me its on back-order and so they will send it when it arrives- maybee as long as 4-5 weeks. Its much cheaper to buy from Germany - retail price is €250 inc german VAT - and as I was buying a COMAND unit from them it was discounted further

Cheers

Hi Richard,
Many apologies for going off topic, but are you suggesting we could make huge savings by buying from a main dealer in Germany?

I am thinking of say all the Linguatronic parts I might need for say a S211  Or of course hte AMG tailpipes for an SL.

Yes - we completely ripped off here, and if you're buying anything more than about 300 Euros its cheaper to have it sent from Germany ..

Thanks Richard, Richard :D

I have copied your entire message and put it away for safe keeping (I bet in two days time I forget all about it)

I will have to get my calculator out and work out how much you actually saved.

Well done,
John
