W202 C windscreen wipers stop upright

My friends W202 (C180), when you turn off the windscreen wipers, they stop upright instead of lying down.

Stealership wants £1000 ++ to fix - he's seen a C180 of same age for sale for that price :-)

Any suggestions ??

Errr yes and for nowt (cheeky buggers at that stealership) you have to remover the wiper unit and adjust the position of it these links might help you, once you get the hang of it it may take a few goes to get it right (this might involve taking it off putting it on a few time)

they are similar to w202's, the main theory is there anyway.

It is basically the same mono wiper, and has lots of piccies.
