my wifes c200k coupe suffers from intermittent remote locking problems.
if opened with key works for a while then stops again .
and only opens if the fob is 3 inches from the door handle.
any ideas on a fix?

Have you tried new batteries in the key-fob plus also check that the Battery contacts on the key-fob as they can get dirty.
