Evenin' All,
I've got the A210 820 56 89 COMAND unit and boot mounted changer in the CLK and was wondering if it would play mp3s. I seem to recall that it doesn't but I can't search for 'mp3' as it's too small
It would be handy to be able to batch up all Ava's nursery rhymes onto 1 disc so as not to take up multiple slots :p
I searched for COMAND but got fed up after the first 40 posts or so......I am lazy I know
Cheers,
Adam.

you can always "fool" the forum's search software by adding a wildcard
try searching for "comand *mp3" that should narrow things down slightly

have you an mp3 player? do you know it has a jack plug in the glove box, mine's on the rhs, then you should fit all the songs on one player:D tip, go for one with a memory card slot then you can chop and change the music on the player. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5129405/Trail/C%24cip%3D36693.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip%3D3 6727.MP3%2Bplayers%3EC%24cip%3D36731.MP3%2Bplayers %2Bwith%2Bportable%2Bsolid%2Bstate.htm. look at this as well. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5130047/Trail/C%24cip%3D36693.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip%3D3 6727.MP3%2Bplayers%3EC%24cip%3D36731.MP3%2Bplayers %2Bwith%2Bportable%2Bsolid%2Bstate.htm. hope this helps.
No, it does not play mp3's but if you have the aux input you could always plug your MP3 player in (if you have one) and use that.

As you dont already have the Aux input, you can add one quite easily. Here is the relevant section of Richards retrofitting document which details what you need.
COMAND can have an Auxiliary audio input – this is normally found in the glovebox and can be used to connect a cassette/mp3/md player or other music source.
The input connections are on the C2 connector and are as follows: -
Right Signal 4
Right Ground 5
Left Signal 13
Left Ground 14
Shielded 3-core cable should be used with the shield connected to pin 14 of connector C2.
There is a loom available from Mercedes for this which has a 3.5mm jack for the glovebox and a white connector that plugs into the COMAND wiring loom – this is part number
A210 440 50 05
The connector that plugs into this, which needs to be wired to the C2 connector on COMAND is
A037 545 06 28
Pins for that are
A035 545 96 28
If you started using the C/CLK loom, then you will not need the connector as it is part of that loom already

Thanks chaps.
I might go down the aux port route or I've also been thinking about a DVD player with a screen in the headrest for her, or maybe roof mounted.....
Has anyone got any ideas where to mount a DVD player in a W208 CLK??
Cheers,
Adam.

I've seen one mounted in the boot which was connected up via a multimedia adapter to play on the COMAND screen. It was mounted on the ceiling of the boot! A bit of a pain if you want to change DVD's during a journey though. There might be room in the glove box!
